Veterans’ Home Care (VHC)

Supporting Our Veterans to Live Independently

The Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) program is a Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) initiative that helps eligible veterans and war widows/widowers maintain their independence and continue living safely in their own homes. The program provides access to low-level support services for everyday tasks — helping you manage daily life while staying connected to your community.

At All About Living, we are proud to support the veteran community by delivering VHC services with care, respect, and understanding.

What Is the Veterans’ Home Care Program?

VHC is designed for eligible members of the veteran community who need a little extra help to stay independent at home. The services provided are not intended for complex or high-level care, but instead offer practical assistance with everyday living.

To be eligible, you must hold a Veteran Gold Card or Veteran White Card and be assessed as needing support.

Services Available Through VHC

At All About Living, we offer a range of support services under the Veterans’ Home Care program, including:

  • Domestic assistance – general house cleaning, laundry, and help with daily household tasks

  • Personal care – assistance with showering, dressing, grooming, and hygiene

  • Safety-related home and garden maintenance – essential tasks that reduce risk, such as lawn mowing, clearing walkways, or changing lightbulbs

  • Respite care – in-home support that allows carers to take a break, whether for a few hours or several days

  • DVA Nursing* – clinical nursing care in your home, including wound management, medication support, health assessments, and chronic condition monitoring

*DVA Nursing is available to eligible Gold and White Card holders where there is a clinical need, based on a referral from a GP.

Services are designed to maintain your independence, support your health and wellbeing, and give carers time to rest and recharge.
