Welcome to the Support at Home Information Hub
The Australian Government is introducing the Support at Home Program starting 1 July 2025, a new initiative to enhance aged care services at home. This reform replaces the Home Care Packages Program providing a more tailored, flexible, and unified approach to aged care.
At All About Living, we are dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition into the new Support at Home Program. Our team has been proactively preparing for these changes, aligning our services with the updated quality standards. With a strong focus on person-centred care and supporting independent living, we are proud to continue delivering care that aligns with the program’s vision and our longstanding commitment to excellence.
What is the Support at Home Program?
The Support at Home Program aims to create a better, more effective aged care system. Inspired by recommendations from the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, it ensures older Australians can live safely and independently in their own homes for as long as they choose.
This program also reflects the Aged Care Taskforce’s principle of empowering older people to maintain independence and remain in their homes when it’s safe to do so.
How Support at Home Will Make a Difference
The Support at Home Program is designed to:
- Promote Independence: Help more older Australians stay independent at home, with plans to support an additional 300,000 people by 2034.
- Simplify Services: Combine existing in-home aged care programs into a single, streamlined system.
- Ensure Fairness: Introduce new assessment and classification systems to make accessing care more equitable.
- Encourage Early Intervention: Focus on proactive care to help people remain active and independent for longer.
- Provide Higher Levels of Care: Offer more intensive support for individuals with complex needs who require extra help to stay at home.
As the program evolves, it will grow to meet the needs of an ageing population, ensuring timely access to services that make living at home safer and more comfortable.
